Shivam Potdar is an accomplished CPU Architecture/Performance Modeling Engineer with AMD, Bengaluru, who is passionate about the semiconductor industry. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, India, where he covered diverse domains such as Computer Architecture, VLSI, and Power Electronics. Shivam is a quick learner and has always been eager to explore unique opportunities. He completed his BTech coursework in just three years and spent his final year as a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, where he worked on the design and prototype of a hardware security module targeting embedded systems. Additionally, he has worked at the Wadhwani Electronics Lab, IIT Bombay, in the summer post his sophomore year. Shivam has also been actively involved in the open-source hardware domain as a Google Summer of Code (2020) student with the Free and Open Source Silicon Foundation (FOSSi) and as a RISC-V Community Member. He believes that learning and helping others learn is always a joyful activity and has been a TA for multiple workshops by VLSI Systems Design Corp (led by Kunal Ghosh) and Redwood EDA (led by Steve Hoover). He also mentors juniors from his university on a one-to-one basis. Shivam is fortunate to be associated with elite corporations and institutions early in his career and aspires to make an impact in the industry. He has relevant experience of 2.53 years and possesses a diverse skill set, including Research Scientist and Senior Software Engineer.
