Shivangi Chatterjee is an experienced Data Scientist with 6.61 years of relevant experience. Currently working as a Manager - Decision Sciences at HSBC, Shivangi has previously held the position of Senior Analyst - Decision Sciences at the same company. She has also worked as a Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma, where she optimized operations for an Australian mining company. At Mu Sigma, Shivangi was responsible for identifying operational bottlenecks in the material movement from mines to ports through a detailed EDA of different kinds of data pertaining to the mining supply chain. She estimated the benefits by quantifying the impact of each of the problems identified and created a prototype solution for the same. Shivangi built a regression model for predicting the % fill of vessels being loaded at the port and created the modeling pipeline based on which various kinds of models such as Random Forest, GBM were run. The final solution was selected based on evaluation metrics. Shivangi also worked on Ore Handling Plant Optimization, a follow-up project done for root cause identification for unscheduled downtimes and solution roadmap creation to improve throughput at one of the mines owned by the company. She was responsible for an extensive EDA on varied operations related datasets done in a short period of time as well as helping the team understand the various supply chain operations at the mine. Shivangi identified the equipment causing the majority of downtimes as well as the causes using text analytics on the delay reasons. Shivangi holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with honours in Mathematics from Delhi University and a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Operational Research from Delhi University South Campus. Her technical skills include Research Scientist, Data Scientist, SQL, Python, ML, Random Forest, and test.
