Shivank Garg is a Software Engineer at Qualcomm with a passion for computer systems and free and open-source operating systems like GNU/Linux and FreeBSD. He completed his B.Tech + M.Tech in Electrical Engineering at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. Shivank has gained valuable internship experience with Intel Labs and Samsung, and has completed Google Summer of Code (GSoC) programs with FreeBSD in 2019 and 2020. During his GSoC'20 project, he worked on adding Audit(4) support to NFS in FreeBSD, which involved designing and implementing support for event audit in NFS for advanced security to meet requirements of CC/CAPP evaluation. He also used the libnfs low-level library and ATF-Kyua framework to write the NFSAuditTestSuite for unit-testing each NFS audit event. His mentor for the project was Alan Somers. Apart from his technical skills, Shivank has also honed his communication and collaboration skills through his work experience and education. He has a strong understanding of electrical, electronics, and communications engineering, and is proficient in various software engineering and testing tools. Overall, Shivank is a highly motivated and skilled software engineer with relevant experience of 2.20 years. He is a quick learner and a team player, and is always eager to take on new challenges and learn new technologies.
