Shivateja Reddy is an experienced Software Engineer currently working at Amazon Web Services (AWS) on building cool stuff at Glue Elastic Views (in preview now!). He is passionate about building data-intensive applications and has a relevant experience of 8.21 years in the industry. In his current role as a Software Engineer at Amazon, Shivateja is responsible for designing and developing modular, well-tested code that powers thousands of online migrations into DocumentDB, which is now available as a target in AWS Database Migration Service. He has worked on maximizing the throughput of batch/stream processing layers by using profilers and analyzing flame-graphs. Shivateja has also debugged various non-trivial memory corruption bugs using tools like Valgrind and GDB. He has been a part of building the security layer of DocumentDB - TLS, authentication, and authorization. Shivateja's experience with technologies like C, C++, Java, RPC, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon EC2, S2N, Valgrind, and GDB has been instrumental in his success at Amazon. In the past, Shivateja has worked on building an accounting system that allocated various transportation costs in Amazon's transportation network to the packages moving through it. He has also worked on building/maintaining a service that refunded customers' import fee deposits collected as a part of Amazon Global shipments. Shivateja has worked on building a service that predicts the probability of delay for a certain package as it moves through Amazon's transportation network, using ML.
