Shivendra Agrawal is a highly skilled and experienced 3rd year CS Ph.D. student specializing in Assistive Robotics. He has a strong background in data science and has worked as an Associate Data Scientist at Noodle.ai and as a Co-Founder of a start-up called Progyrus. Shivendra is broadly interested in Human Robotics Interaction, Computer Vision, 3D Scene Understanding, and Explainable AI, with a particular focus on the application of these in Assistive Robotics. Currently, Shivendra is developing a smart cane that uses insights from psychology, CV, NLP, haptics, robotics, and HRI to assist people with visual impairments to perform day-to-day tasks more independently. He has also developed an Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) tool, a Demand forecast demo web app, and a churn analysis model while working at Noodle.ai. At Progyrus, Shivendra contributed to conceptualizing the idea and launching the MVP product, designed the order management and task management/allotment systems, developed dashboards using AngularJS, and used Django REST framework + PostgreSQL to automate the translation workflow and integration on the client side. Shivendra has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and an Integrated Masters in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He is expected to complete his Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science, Robotics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023.
