Shivkumar Krishnan is a results-driven engineering leader with over 20 years of experience in software development, test architecture, and leadership across a variety of technology platforms. He has a proven track record of shipping large-scale consumer and enterprise applications for top-tier companies, training and motivating teams, and enabling effective knowledge sharing. As an angel investor and tech advisor for various pre-Series A stage startups, including BukuWarung, Brick (OneBrick.io), NodeFlair.com, and petpal.in, Shivkumar is passionate about talent management, hiring, mentoring, and seeing people grow to their full potential. He is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills and a flair for innovation, working closely with product management and development teams through the software development lifecycle to strive towards the best possible innovative customer experiences right from product inception stage. Shivkumar is currently the Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the 99 Group, which operates some of the largest real estate property portals across Singapore and Indonesia, including 99.co in Singapore and Indonesia, Rumah123.com (Indonesia), iProperty.com.sg, and srx.com.sg (recent acquisition). He is heading and growing a diverse team of 100+ technologists across Singapore and Indonesia, with a mission to build the simplest and most trusted property marketplace across Southeast Asia. Prior to his current role, Shivkumar served as the Director of Engineering at Circles Life, a disruptive startup in the telco industry, and as an engineering leader at Grab, Southeast Asia's largest on-demand transportation, food delivery, and fintech company. At Grab, he attracted top talent, built empowered teams across multiple R&D centers, and collaborated across all global R&D centers to create a solid, sustainable engineering tech culture. Shivkumar holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MS (Tech) in Technology Management from Birla Institute of Technology and Science. He also completed high school at Vana Vani Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai and attended Vidya Mandir in Chennai for science. Shivkumar's tech stack includes senior software engineer, mobile, test, QA, product manager, web, software engineer, and infra. With over 21 years of relevant experience, Shivkumar is a seasoned technology leader, angel investor, and tech advisor.
