Shounak Acharya is a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Architect with over 11 years of experience in cloud native computing, modern application architectures, and cloud architecture. He is currently working at Google as a Specialist Customer Engineer (Solutions Architect), Application Ecosystem, Google Cloud Platform. In this role, he is responsible for understanding customer scenarios for GCP’s Application Modernization Portfolio on Google Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, Cloud Run, and Anthos. He also manages the complete Google portfolio, including IaaS, AI/ML, and leads digital transformation engagements in modernizing existing platforms to a modernized cloud-native architecture. Shounak has a proven track record of success in the field of cloud computing. He was pivotal in the role of Cloud Architect for Aarogya Setu – India’s Contact Tracing App for Covid-19 Pandemic with 150 million registered users. He has also led application development teams for product lifecycles of products like Government of India’s Single Sign-on application, LDAP Platform as a Service for multi-tenanted identity management, Government of India’s Storage as a Service, and GoI’s email campaigning application, amongst others. Shounak has worked with AWS as a Solutions Architect for the public sector and participated in RFPs & solution designing. He has aided accounts in PoCs around big data and machine learning around AWS EMR, Sagemaker, amongst other core AWS services. He has also worked at Hewlett Packard as a Solutions Architect and acted as the Cloud Architect for the implementation of one of the biggest open-source-based private cloud implementation of Government of India with a team of 12 members. Shounak is a highly educated individual with a Master of Science in Machine Learning and AI from Liverpool John Moores University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Machine Learning and AI from IIIT Bangalore, and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from Amity University.
