Shreyas Pandey is a Software Development Engineer 2 at Microsoft, currently working on Azure Core. He is responsible for developing and operating the Replication Control Manager micro-service for Azure Site Recovery. Site Recovery is an Azure service designed to ensure business continuity during outages by replicating workloads running on physical and virtual machines from a primary site to a secondary location. When an outage occurs at the primary site, the user can fail over to the secondary location and access apps from there. After the primary location is running again, the user can fail back to it. RCM forms the control plane for Site Recovery service and facilitates migration, replication, fail over, and fail back for an Azure/Virtual/Physical machine by controlling data and workflows for these operations. Before joining Microsoft, Shreyas worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Amazon and UnitedHealth. At Amazon, he was part of the profiling team for Amazon Business customers and was responsible for designing and developing a data path using AWS technologies to capture business profile data and structure it as per the requirement. He also designed and developed a web application using Amazon's Horizonte framework to service requests over the structured data. At UnitedHealth, he worked as a Software Engineering Intern. Shreyas holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He has 4.86 years of relevant experience and is skilled in Azure, Software Engineering, AWS, Microservices, Elastic Search, and Web.
