Shubham Rander is a highly skilled Software Engineer currently working at Google. With over 6 years of relevant experience, Shubham is passionate about designing and developing highly scalable, reliable and performant backend software systems. He is a curious learner who is interested in building streaming services, large scale machine learning systems, recommender systems, handling big data and distributed systems. Shubham completed his Masters in Computer Science at The Ohio State University where he expanded his knowledge in fields of Deep Learning, NLP, Data Mining, and Distributed Systems. During his graduate school, he worked on projects related to AI and data mining such as Activity Recognition, Fall detection using UltraSound, Tweet Analysis, Association Analysis, etc. He also worked on scaling distributed machine learning systems on Supercomputers on Infiniband Stack using MPI libraries and scaled across multiple GPUs and nodes. Shubham is an experienced Software Engineer who has worked on enterprise distributed systems such as Apache Kafka, Solr, Spark, and Hadoop File System. He has developed and designed software systems from scratch which are capable of handling scale up to 800 TPS and also developed systems that can handle a workload of 2 GB to 100 GB of data. At Amazon, he was part of the Personalization team of retail and worked on designing and implementing a job framework for analyzing the quality of personalized recommendation datasets on AWS stack. At Visa Inc., he was responsible for developing horizontal services, libraries, and infrastructure for upstream business applications like Visa Checkout, Visa Direct: important clients include Google Pay and Samsung Pay. He also worked on creating, developing, and maintaining many features for the Search Platform and Messaging Platform. Shubham's education background includes a Masters in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NIT Warangal.
