Shyam Joshi is an experienced OS Software Engineer at Intel with a strong background in embedded systems and systems architecture. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Arizona State University, where he focused on embedded systems. Shyam is proficient in C, C++, Python, Bash Scripting, and Verilog/VHDL, and has extensive experience in system-level programming of device drivers, OS kernel, embedded SoC, RTOS, and bare-metal firmware with knowledge of x86, MIPS, and ARM architecture. Shyam's protocol exposure includes SPI, USB, UART, I2C, Bluetooth Low Energy, TCP/IP, and IPsec. He has worked on device driver, kernel, and Linux-based environment development, as well as the development of bare-metal/embedded firmware and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS). Prior to joining Intel, Shyam worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Marvell Technology, where he added support using C++ in the system exerciser tool to enable loopback mode of an integrated I/O device for performance tests. He also created utilities to exercise custom I/O co-processor blocks of embedded SoC to test machine learning and IPsec encryption/decryption capabilities. At the University Technology Office at Arizona State University, Shyam worked as an IoT developer, where he studied Bluetooth Low Energy architecture and Bluetooth Mesh standard to create a network for on-campus IoT projects utilizing Nordic's nRFx SoC. He also enabled serial communication on Nordic's nRF52840 DK to facilitate data transfer with other devices, emulated a COM port, and employed a Python script to collect the received data. Shyam's education history includes a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya.
