Shyam Shinde is an Associate Engineering Manager (Machine Learning) at helpshift, with over 10 years of relevant experience in the field. Shyam is a skilled professional who excels in defining what to build for data and machine learning products and figuring out the best way to build it. He is currently heading the team of machine learning, data scientist, and analyst engineers at helpshift. Shyam has made significant contributions to the company, including increasing intent detection coverage in support tickets to 90% from 60% by leading multiple product initiatives. He has also mentored engineers for MLOps initiative like mlflow integration, ML Observability. In his previous roles at helpshift, Shyam led the product development of intent detection system on user's messages in chatbot to support the conversational chatbot experience. He also developed ML models for inference on mobile devices (offline) to provide search as you type experience. Additionally, he enhanced text clustering solution on non-English text data using NLP techniques and clustering algorithms to discover the 'intents' in support tickets. Shyam completed his Btech in Computer Science from Walchand College of Engineering, Vishrambag, Sangli, in 2012. He also has experience in HSC from Dayanand Science college of Lature and Madhyamik Vidyalaya Deonandra.
