Siben Nayak is a seasoned software architect, developer, team lead, educator, and mentor based in India. With over a decade of experience in the software industry, he has progressed from an entry-level trainee to an architect and technical leader in his current role. Siben has led diverse teams and delivered complex large-scale products globally, on both on-premise and cloud environments. Currently, Siben is a Staff Software Engineer at Intuit, leading multiple initiatives like Global Expansion, Backup & Restore, Spreadsheet Sync, and the operational maturity track. He has also led the core workflow platform capability. Prior to this, he helped build and scale the Recharges, Bill Payments, Financial Services, Travel, and Entertainment categories on Amazon India. Siben has a solid grasp over data structures and algorithms, high-level and low-level system design expertise, adaptive problem-solving skills, deep knowledge of an entire suite of AWS services, and experience in designing large-scale distributed systems on AWS. He is passionate about automating stuff and has experience in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), project planning, estimations, architecture, and design. Outside of work, Siben spends his time reading books, improving his photography skills, writing technical blogs, and working on his YouTube channel. He is also a career coach and mentor and is always willing to help early-stage startups with tech consultation. Siben's current role at Intuit involves leading multiple projects on technology and strategy as an architect, helping Intuit expand its business worldwide while also taking care of scaling existing applications. He has successfully launched the QBO Advanced Global expansion initiative in Canada and the UK, led the Backup and Restore capability, and helped the team plan, re-architect, and scale the system from 16k customers to 160k customers at no additional cost. He also led the technology acquisition and integration of DataDear to add advanced bi-directional sync capabilities to QuickBooks Online. Siben has a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering and Technology. He also holds a Class 12th and Class 10th degree from Kendriya Vidyalaya.
