Sisil Mehta is a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer with a strong background in AI, Pytorch, and data engineering. Currently working at Facebook AI, she is responsible for developing and implementing distributed training on Pytorch Lightning, as well as speeding up the training process for large models in image, video, and text formats. She is also an active contributor to open source projects such as Pytorch and PyTorch Lightning. Before joining Facebook AI, Sisil worked at Uber as a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead. During her tenure at Uber, she played a key role in building the foundational pieces of the Carrier Platform for Uber Freight. She led a small team of cross-functional engineers to build multiple features, including Fleet Mode, Onboarding, Loads/Jobs Platform, Multistop, and App Redesign. She also served as the Lead Architect of AutoRollouts, where she led a small team to architect a feature rollout system used for automated and monitored rollout of features on mobile devices. Sisil also has experience working at Amazon as a Software Engineer, where she built and experimented with computer vision systems and algorithms. She was responsible for building the ingestion and storage layer for terabytes of data collected from drones. Sisil holds an MS in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Certification Course in Fundamentals of Deep Learning from the University of San Francisco, and a B.Tech in Electronics from VJTI. With 9.37 years of relevant experience, she is an expert in Senior Software Engineering, Software Engineering, AI, Pytorch, Data Engineering, Search, ETL, Mobile, Backend, and Computer Vision. Sisil is also an angel investor who is passionate about investing in startups that focus on AI and deep learning.
