Sivachandran Paramasivam is a highly skilled Cloud Engineer currently working remotely for Platform.sh. With over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing system software for the entertainment industry, he is a true craftsman in personality and a computer technologist by profession. His belief in mastery through continuous practice has led him to specialize in Golang, Backend Systems, and System Software. One of Sivachandran's recent achievements includes designing and leading the implementation of a cloud-based petabyte-scale content storage and distribution platform for digital cinema. He had to devise a hybrid transfer mechanism that supported large numbers of last-minute distributions with minimal operational cost. He used custom Embedded Linux on Raspberry Pi and other specialized hardware platforms as the delivery/edge devices. Previously, Sivachandran engineered a memory manager and 2D rendering engine, and DVD playback engine for MMU less network-enabled DVD player. He also implemented FIPS 140-2 & 140-3 compliant Security Manager(SM) for a digital cinema server. Sivachandran has worked with several companies in the past, including sahaj software as a Solution Consultant and qube cinema as a Software Architect. At qube cinema, he designed the software stack to use Raspberry Pi 4 as an edge device for digital cinema distribution, devised a registration mechanism that uses a combination of Raspberry Pi 4 hardware id and asymmetric key-pair(RSA) to assign a unique identity, and designed a WireGuard based VPN that allows theatre devices to be accessible from a secure cloud server. Sivachandran holds a Master of Computer Application degree from The American College, Madurai, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the same institution. He has a wealth of technical knowledge and experience, with a relevant experience of 17.95 years.
