Smitesh Sathidevi is an accomplished Technology and Architecture professional with over 19 years of experience in shaping and influencing businesses and teams with technology, leadership, and a growth mindset. Currently serving as the Global Lead Architect at Aegon, Smitesh has held multiple leadership roles spanning across global and regional levels in federated organizations. Smitesh has directed and managed distributed architecture and product engineering teams across multiple geographies, with expertise in Domain-driven design, Data Engineering, Microservices, and event-driven architectural styles. He fosters collaboration and builds relationships across the organization to achieve broader goals together. Smitesh is passionate about hiring, retaining, and growing talent while fostering a strong engineering culture and values. Throughout his career, Smitesh has led continuous experimentation and prototyping with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He is focused on building products, self-organizing teams, cloud architectures, performant, and resilient systems. Smitesh's previous experience includes serving as Director Technology at Aegon, where he architected an Event-driven Microservices-based life insurance platform from scratch for ecommerce scale transactions with throughput well above thousand TPS. He also bootstrapped the Data Engineering team and developed a Serverless Data Platform using Lambda architecture with data-pipelines and publication sets addressing Data accessibility, analytics, regulatory reporting, and Insights. Smitesh has also worked as a Staff Software Engineer at LinkedIn, where he built next-generation products and platforms. He holds a Master of Science degree in Software Systems from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from Cochin University. Smitesh completed his high school from Chinmaya Vidhyalaya, Bokaro Steel City. Smitesh is an expert in Senior Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Microservices, ML, and Software Engineering.
