Snehal Thakkar is a highly experienced Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, with a proven track record of delivering results in individual contributor, leadership, and managerial roles. She is skilled across the stack in machine learning, backend, frontend, and midtier. With a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, Snehal is a strong engineering professional who has guided teams working on all parts of the stack to develop culture and architecture that results in healthy modular code and rapid delivery on backend pipelines, frontend serving, and even ML projects. Currently working as a Software Engineer and Technical Lead Manager (TLM) at Google Health, Snehal manages the teams responsible for ingesting data, mapping it to FHIR schema, and harmonizing the data. Prior to this, she was the TLM for Google Analytics Intelligence, leading four teams of engineers and data scientists on various machine learning-powered efforts in Google Analytics. She also served as the Lead Software Engineer for Google Analytics Backend, where she was responsible for designing and driving the backend forward to help Google Analytics. Additionally, Snehal was the Tech Lead Manager for Google Analytics Frontend, managing a team of 25 engineers and helping the team launch many features and several major versions of the product and frontend framework. With over 15 years of relevant experience, Snehal's primary coding skills include Java and Javascript. She has also worked extensively on improving testing and release cycles for her group, resulting in significant improvements in testing and releases. Snehal's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Senior Software Engineering, Frontend, Backend, ML, test, SRE, Java, Javascript, Data Scientist, Research Scientist, and Search. Before joining Google, Snehal worked as an Oracle Developer/Intern at Scitex Digital Printing, where she developed reports and forms in Oracle ERP systems and became an Oracle certified developer. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Wright State University.
