Somanath Ramachandran is a Member of Technical Staff - 3 at VMware, with a passion for software engineering and development. He has been curious-minded since childhood and has always wanted to build something that can benefit people. Somanath started coding when he was 15 and customized his first desktop by himself while watching YouTube. He pursued computer science as his academic course in high school and taught himself new programming languages by reading books and online resources. Somanath has a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Karpagam College of Engineering. During his college years, he created several tools and software and attended online coding contests and hackathons. He joined Google Developer Group and Facebook Developer Circle in his city and collaborated with other people to create projects that help normal people, especially those who are physically challenged. Somanath also mentored his juniors from college whenever possible. Currently, Somanath is working at VMware as a Member of Technical Staff - 2, where he is involved in projects related to VMware vSAN project and ML projects. He has also worked as a Member of Technical Staff and Research and Development Intern at VMware, where he worked on projects related to storage and network/Telco virtualization. Somanath's specialties include C/C++, JAVA, Python, AI/ML, and his academic interests lie in data structure and algorithms, design, and analysis. He has domain knowledge in virtualization on SDDC, distributed systems, and vSAN. Somanath is a software engineer, ML, AI, Python, Java, C, and research scientist with over five years of relevant experience. He loves being an engineer and is always eager to learn and solve problems.
