Someshwar Dash is a highly experienced Lead Engineer in Data Science and Engineering, currently working at Rapido. He is also the Co-Founder and CTO of Vahanalytics, which was acquired by Rapido. With over 7 years of relevant experience, Someshwar has a strong background in data engineering, senior software engineering, machine learning, data science, big data, Android, DevOps, mobile, frontend, and backend development. At Rapido, Someshwar is responsible for leading many of the company's most important customer and captain-facing end-user data products. This includes segmentation, selection, and allocation of discounts and incentives. He has also conceptualized and built out the company's entire Big Data Platform Engineering stack and team. Prior to joining Rapido, Someshwar was the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Vahanalytics. In this role, he was responsible for developing data science solutions for transportation and logistics, with a focus on making better drivers and safer roads through smarter data. He built out the entire mobile app ecosystem, contributed heavily to and architected the backend and frontend services, and ensured security and privacy. He also managed dev tooling and DevOps. Someshwar holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and a Master's degree in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He also has a certification from the Institute of Actuaries of India. He completed his high school education at R N Podar and Lilavatibai Podar High School.
