SooYeon Kim is a software engineer at Samsung Electronics with a passion for making daily lives simpler and more convenient through software. Despite having a major in International Studies and Business, she has actively pursued a career in tech and has gained dynamic experiences at Samsung as a partner engineer for Google, Samsung Blockchain Keystore developer, and Samsung Pay TPM. Prior to her current role, she has also had internship experiences at Alibaba and Microsoft, all of which have inspired her to deliver valuable and meaningful product and user experiences to the world. Having spent her childhood in the U.S. and living abroad in Australia and China, SooYeon has developed an understanding of diverse backgrounds and built strong communication and language skills. She believes that these skills are essential in building successful collaborations in the tech industry. In her current role at Samsung, SooYeon is responsible for engineering collaboration at a large scale with key strategic partners, including Google. She has also worked as a Samsung Blockchain Keystore Software Engineer, where she developed and launched the Samsung Blockchain Keystore app on Galaxy S10 and following flagship models. She has also published the Samsung Blockchain Keystore SDK and Programming Guide on Samsung Developers Site to help developers understand the nature of blockchain as well as how to leverage Samsung Blockchain Keystore feature. SooYeon has presented a blockchain session, "Is Your Blockchain App Secure?" at Samsung Developers Conference 2019. SooYeon's experience also includes working as a Samsung Pay Technical Program Manager. In this role, she collaborated with multi-functional teams, including engineering, QA, product management, business, and UX organizations and partners to define timelines and communicate requirements, goals, as well as critical risks on a regular basis to promptly deliver services within Samsung Pay, including Online Payment, Coupons, and Financial Mall. SooYeon holds a Bachelor's degree in Division of International Studies, Business from Ewha Womans University. She has also been an exchange student at UNSW Australia and attended Yongin Foreign Language High School at Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies. SooYeon's tech stack includes software engineering, blockchain, mobile, QA, and product management. With 6.61 years of relevant experience, SooYeon is committed to delivering innovative solutions that make a difference in people's lives.
