Sophia Anopa is a talented software engineer with 6.78 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently working as a Software Engineering Intern at Instagram, she is a part of the Feed Experience team and works as an iOS engineer. Sophia has implemented zooming on photos and videos on iOS, and has also improved the experience of loading photos for slow-network users. She has started dogfooding it to the company to ensure that the feature is working as expected. Prior to her current role, Sophia has worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Square, where she contributed to the initial launch of the Dashboard iOS App and post-launch improvements. She improved functional testing coverage of key reporting features, extended functionality to filter by time of day in the reporting screens, and added a custom upgrade prompt to encourage beta customers to upgrade to the App Store version of the app. Sophia has also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Parallel and Sequential Data Structures and Algorithms at Carnegie Mellon University, where she led a weekly recitation with a partner, held weekly office hours, answered students' questions, as well as graded the assignments. She was the Head TA in Fall 2016. Sophia holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, which she completed in 2017.
