Soumen Kaity is a highly skilled and experienced software engineer currently working at CGI, where he has been instrumental in developing and implementing various software solutions. With over 3 years of relevant experience, Soumen has a strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML), and has worked on several projects that have required him to use various classification algorithms such as SVM, Softmax, Naive Bayes, K-nearest Neighbourhood, and other concepts like Named Entity Recognition, Dependency Parsing, Part-of-speech tagging, etc. Prior to joining CGI, Soumen worked as a Summer Intern at Skybits Technologies, where he developed a project titled "Identification and Tagging Cyber Threat Type News." The project involved classifying news articles as cyber security type news or not and identifying various tags such as threat type, threat name, country or organization from where the threat originated, victim country or organization, date and time of the threat attack, etc. Soumen implemented this project in Python 2.7 and used his expertise in NLP and ML to develop the necessary algorithms. Soumen has also worked as a Winter Trainee at Microsoft, where he developed an Attendance app using Android Studio. The app helps teachers take attendance in the classroom by opening a portal for attendance only to the students present in the class. Soumen used various concepts such as Shared Memory, Locking Protocols, etc., to develop the app. Soumen holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Technology from IIEST, where he achieved a CGPA of 9.18. He also completed his Higher Secondary education from Goghat High School (H.S.) with a score of 94.6% and his Secondary Examination from Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Mission Multipurpose School. Soumen's technical stack includes Software Engineering, Naive Bayes, SVM, NLP, ML, and Python.
