Soumik Jana is a highly experienced Principal Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the field. He is currently working at ExaThought, where he leads a team of engineers to refactor Malbork, an electric taxi aggregation software service, to improve its stability and speed. Soumik also implemented an option for the admin to choose between two types of map services, reducing overall costs. He utilized a range of technologies for this project, including JAVA on Android, Swift on iOS, NodeJS on the server side, flutter, and NodeJS for the admin console. The service was deployed on Azure. In addition to his work at ExaThought, Soumik has also worked as a CTO at banbreach, where he developed a secure router for home and SME use with a range of cyber intelligence capabilities. He worked on FreeBSD and OpenWrt operating systems to engineer the firmware of the secure system and developed a WebGUI to manage the router configuration and monitor network health status. He also performed penetration testing for B2B customers and discovered cyber incidents on the internet, reporting them to the relevant authorities. Soumik's educational background includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur and a High School degree in Science from Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission. His technical skills include AWS, NodeJS, Docker, Jenkins, iOS, Azure, and Selenium. Soumik is a Senior Software Engineer with a wealth of relevant experience in the industry.
