Soumik Majumder is a passionate software engineer with a love for building cool stuff. He currently works as a Member of Technical Staff at VMware, where he is part of the team building Project Carvel. His focus is on helping engineers manage their workloads deployed on Kubernetes better. Soumik is passionate about all things open source and the Cloud Native ecosystem. He loves working with GoLang and TypeScript, and he enjoys dabbling with some bash magic every now and then. Soumik has a strong background in software development and has worked with a variety of technologies. He has experience with web development, microservices, and Spring Boot. He is also skilled in Typescript and has experience working with databases based on Firestore/Firebase. Soumik is an excellent communicator and has experience working with members of development teams of all platforms to ensure consistency. Soumik holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computers and Communications from Manipal Institute of Technology, where he graduated in 2021. He has relevant experience of 1.87 years and has worked with companies such as Edumates and The Editorial Board, Manipal in the past. At Edumates, Soumik was a Full Stack Developer and was responsible for modelling databases and writing Cloud Functions using Typescript. He was also responsible for developing a well-structured and maintainable React App using TypeScript. At The Editorial Board, Manipal, Soumik was the Head of Web Development and was responsible for designing a web solution and managing a team of developers for building a web solution for hosting the college's yearbook. Soumik is an active contributor to the open source community and has a GitHub profile where he shares his work. He is always looking for new challenges and loves solving problems that teach him something new.
