Soumya Das is an experienced technology leader with a track record of leading the design and development of high technology products in the areas of internet and mobile technologies. With over 17 years of relevant experience, he is a great product thinker and a good team motivator. As the India Engineering Site Lead at Motive Inc, Soumya is instrumental in delivering immense business value through tech innovations in a fast-paced environment through improved metric-driven SDLC processes. Prior to his current role, Soumya was the Director of Engineering at Treebo, where he led multiple cross-cutting projects across multiple engineering teams, including the DevOps team, to deliver high-quality products in a predictable and aggressive timeline, creating immense business impact. He created a central reservation system with a highly scalable and extensible architecture to externalize it as a SaaS platform, which replaced the previous expensive SaaS solution being used across all hotels at Treebo. He also enhanced the SDLC processes to ensure a streamlined and efficient software delivery process with the right balance of speed and quality in a metrics-driven approach. Soumya led the DevOps team in automating infra for building highly available and resilient systems with a special focus on application monitoring to create high visibility on application performance across all teams. He helped build a highly capable and motivated team of developers and architects with very low attrition. Soumya was also the Co-Founder & VP Engineering at Lifetape (LT Research), where he led the entire engineering effort to generate on-the-fly dynamic video experiences using Famo.us & HTML5 technologies and maintained a 60 FPS experience implementing browser rendering optimizations. He conceptualized & implemented a feature to export dynamic videos in an incredible speed using Chromium & ffmpeg on Spark. Soumya also innovated a unique strategy to auto-layout very fast loading responsive webpages out of the content uploaded by the users which was interactive and context-specific based on who was viewing it. Soumya holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics & Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
