Soumya Hegde is a skilled software engineer with over 7 years of experience in embedded software development. She has extensive experience in Vitis FPGA tool development, including debugger, and working in RTOS environments. She is also experienced in I2C driver development and has a strong knowledge of C programming, C++, and Python. Soumya is a certified machine learning expert from IIIT Hyderabad. She is currently working as an R&D Engineer at Siemens, where she is working on Radio Network Controller (RNC) tester tool development for the mobile broadband vertical. In the past, Soumya worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the National University of Singapore, where she worked on developing a simulator that tests the embedding of virtual networks in hybrid optical electrical data centers. She developed the simulator using Python and the Sage framework in Linux. Her objective was to fit the maximum number of interconnected servers and provide the highest bandwidth using electrical and optical networks. Soumya also worked as a Software Firmware Engineer II at Hewlett-Packard, where she worked on software/firmware development. She developed I2C abstraction code for various Ethernet boards and worked on physical port manager features like TDR and flow control. Soumya also worked on master and slave systems managing the intercommunication in the above modules. She developed software cable testers using the time domain reflectometry technology for switches with Broadcom and AQ-based PHY chips.
