Soumyadeep Mukherjee is a Co-Founder and Engineer at Dashtoon, a technology company that aims to make visual storytelling more accessible to creators and consumers. With a background in Computer Science, Robotics, and IoT from IIT Kharagpur and Max Planck Institute, Soumyadeep has over 6 years of relevant experience in the field. Prior to his current role, Soumyadeep worked as an Associate Director of Product and Engineering at udaan, where he focused on reducing operational costs and specializing in cloud infrastructure and supply chain automation. He grew the infrastructure organization from 1 person to 20+ and reduced cloud costs by 60% over 6 months. He also built a cross-functional team of mechanical, electronics, controls software engineers, product analysts, data scientists, and program managers who handled the end-to-end product life cycle from ideation to prototype to production to scaling up manufacturing. Soumyadeep also worked as an Architect and Founding Engineer at Morphle Labs, where he built a whole slide scanner for pathologists and led the team that built AI tools for pathology for cancer diagnosis as well as differential for blood slides. He traveled across the country for sales and product feedback with the device constantly optimizing for users. In addition to his professional experience, Soumyadeep has experience building and deploying horizontally scalable microservices with experience using Kafka, Kubernetes on Java. On his free days, he builds IoT products for fun connected to cloud services along with React Native mobile applications. He also toys around with deep learning frameworks for image analysis and has experience with robotics systems on ROS and designing distributed robot frameworks for aerial and ground vehicles and implementing them for research projects and international competitions.
