Soumyadeep Paul is a Software Development Engineer-1 at Expedia Group, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a minor in Entrepreneurship from IIIT Delhi. He is a software development and machine learning enthusiast with a keen interest in algorithms, project planning, and designing user interfaces. Soumyadeep has worked primarily on backend development using Express.js, Node.js, JavaScript, and MongoDB. However, he is open to learning new tech stacks and implementing different frameworks. Soumyadeep is a part of the core team of the Entrepreneurship Cell of his college, where he helps mentor aspiring student entrepreneurs. He has also mentored two teams of Entrepreneurs who are Delhi Government school students in the platform Business Blasters by the Aam Aadmi Party. In his previous role at Expedia, Soumyadeep developed an employee-centric Virtual Agent leveraging the company's Conversation Platform technology available for customers on the main website. His task involved conceptualizing the build-vs-buy dilemma with a market-ready product from a 3rd party company, collecting data to train NLU models for all the intents, designing and developing end-to-end user flows for all 13 functionalities/intents to help EG employees save their precious time. The project had a huge business impact allowing Expedia Group to save 68 employee work hours every year. Soumyadeep is passionate about developing stuff for people to see them being used in the real world. He is always open to geeking out about self-development, business ideas, stocks/crypto, playing chess, or watching action thrillers. His tech stack includes Software Engineer, Javascript, Backend, MongoDB, NodeJS, ML, and Web. With 1.03 years of relevant experience, Soumyadeep is a skilled developer who is constantly learning and expanding his horizons.
