Soumyajit Ganguly is a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist with a career spanning over 7.95 years in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He started his journey in the ML/AI space back in 2012 and has since then worked in various domains including Electronics Engineering, Robotics, Image Processing, Computer Vision, and Data Science. Soumyajit has a Master's degree in Computer Science and has also been involved in academic research with AI, NLP, IR, ML, and DL. He has worked on several projects related to time series forecasting, fraud detection, attrition modelling, and ltv. Currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Wildlife Studios, Soumyajit has previously worked with Zalando and Flipkart. At Flipkart, he built machine learning models for predicting sales of products across the platform, using algorithms such as ARIMA, XGBoost, and LSTM. He also worked on predicting initial sales figures and life-cycles of various upcoming electronics products like new Laptops, Headphones, and Mobiles. Soumyajit also built an ML model to predict whether an online order would result in a cancellation or not, during checkout. Apart from this, Soumyajit has also worked on fusing user-level clickstream, sessions data, and product descriptions to come up with unsupervised product embeddings across all verticals, which were used for various down-stream tasks. Soumyajit's educational background includes a Master's degree in Computer Science from IIIT Hyderabad and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Pailan College of Management and Technology.
