Sourab Bavikatte Ravi is a skilled software developer and tech enthusiast with a passion for system programming, web application development, and cloud computing. He has over 3 years of industry experience, having worked on projects involving C++ system application development, full-stack web development, containerization, virtualization, and cloud computing. Currently pursuing his MS in Computer Science program at the University of Southern California, Viterbi School of Engineering, Sourab is expected to graduate in May 2024. He has a strong interest in system programming, web application development, and cloud computing, and is always eager to learn and explore new technologies. Sourab is currently working as a Software Development Engineer 2 at Tally, where he is working on the TallyPrime on AWS project. He has devised a secure and scalable containerized solution to run Windows applications over the Wine environment on Linux VM, which is used by over 10,000 users. He has also introduced real-time file folder sharing and permissions with almost zero latency using access control list, thereby giving control over user data to users. Sourab has optimized Windows system APIs' implementation in the Wine open-source repository, improving the product performance by 2x times. In addition to his current role, Sourab has also worked as a Full-Stack Web Developer Intern - Core Team at Skillmithra. He led a team of 4 junior interns to develop an integrated training platform that guided over 2000 college students. He collaborated with a core team of 2 to design the platform architecture, APIs, and cross-domain user authentication. He also developed a scalable middleware server and rest APIs for a coding platform (CodeWork) supporting 5 programming languages. Sourab has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Science and Engineering from Dayananda Sagar University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. He is proficient in software engineering, web development, and AWS. With relevant experience of 3.94 years, Sourab is a dedicated and motivated individual who is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow.
