Sourav Agarwal is a seasoned technical lead with over five years of experience in full-stack development. He has a strong background in building consumer-facing applications using Golang and React JS, with a focus on web accessibility, internationalization, and localization. Currently, Sourav serves as a Senior FullStack Engineer (Remote) at Proximity Works, a global team of coders, designers, and experts specializing in tackling performance, UX, and scalability engineering challenges for growth-stage and enterprise companies. In his current role, Sourav is responsible for optimizing consumer-facing web applications for scalability and performance, building and developing frontend frameworks and libraries to maximize speed and scale, building robust, secure, and scalable microservices, and leading i10n and l10n initiatives. Prior to joining Proximity Works, he worked as a Full Stack Engineer (Remote) at Snaptivity, where he single-handedly built the entire consumer product for their first release. He introduced improved software practices, including TDD and branch-based development, and worked with a tech stack that included React JS, Golang, and AWS. Sourav has also worked as a Product Engineer at Bain & Company, where he was responsible for building a contractor platform for home service providers used by millions of people across Malaysia. He acted as a team leader, guiding new team members from around the globe through development and onboarding, and helped grow the team to 10+ by assisting in interviewing and providing feedback. He introduced improved software practices, including TDD and branch-based development, and worked with a tech stack that included Golang, React, and MongoDB. Sourav holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from KIIT University and a Senior Secondary School degree in Computer from Sunrise (Eng-Med) School.
