Sourav Basu is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Oracle with over 2.5 years of experience working on Oracle Audit Vault and Database Firewall. He is responsible for implementing features, enhancements, bug fixes, and overall product quality. Sourav has hands-on experience working on Oracle Database internals, SQL scripting, Linux administration, JAVA/C/C++ development, TLS/SSL, XML, and multiple Unix distributions such as Solaris and IBM AIX. Sourav is an Electrical Engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur and is interested in Database administration, Computer networks, Security, and has a keen interest in learning new skills and technologies. At Oracle, he implemented the conversion of the legacy C code base of Oracle Database Directory Audit Trail collector to JAVA code base for XML Audit file types. He also revamped the Transaction Log Audit trail collection infrastructure of Oracle Audit Vault originally using Oracle Streams to use Oracle Golden Gate. Sourav worked closely with the Oracle Golden Gate team for deployment strategies of both products and development of infrastructure. Prior to his current role, Sourav worked as a Member of Technical Staff at Oracle where he implemented major enhancements for Indian Banks such as HDFC Bank and India Post Payments Bank. He provided support for a new data link in Oracle Audit Vault Agent within a short span resulting in increased customer base of the product in India. Sourav also introduced configurable TLS levels for Oracle Audit Vault Agent-to-Server communication and fixed numerous customer and internal bugs on Oracle Database collectors, High Availability of Oracle Audit Vault Server, Host Monitor Agent, Oracle Audit Vault Agent. He composed a best practices guide on Oracle Audit Vault Agent deployments in Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard environments involving standalone Oracle Database instances. Sourav's past experience also includes working as a Web Development Intern at HT Media Ltd, where he designed a generic crawler product using Python, MongoDB, and Django 1.6.
