Sourav Rakshit is a highly experienced software engineer with over 10 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at Juniper Networks, where he is responsible for developing and implementing the TRIO packet forwarding architecture for MX multi-service edge router. He has also developed legacy single-process based line-cards as well as object-oriented multi-processed based next-gen line-cards. In addition, he has worked on the Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) for broadband subscriber management and developed packet data-path micro-code for L2, L3, BNG, statistics, IP fragmentation, BFD, and multi-PFE communication. He is also experienced in distributed statistics processing in a multi-component model and has a strong understanding of C++ Object-oriented design methodologies for data-path SW. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Sourav worked as an R&D SW Engineer at Broadcom, where he was responsible for developing and supporting features related to L2, L3, remote CPU processing, ITU-T Y1731 OAM, and BFD for devices such as Katana2, Saber2, Metrolite, Tomhawak2, Jericho, Jericho2, Qumran-MX/AX/UX. He also provided feature enhancement for HW limitations in fixed pipeline architecture and has hands-on experience with packet processing simulator to debug and verify pipeline functionality. Sourav's early career experience includes working as an Engineer at Ittiam Systems, where he worked on embedded system applications on ARM architecture for image processing and computer vision algorithms. As part of his work, he developed algorithms in C and optimized them using fixed-point arithmetic and ARM-NEON assembly. He also worked on Inflate LZ77 decompression algorithm in PNG decoder and added standard-compliant image format support in the decoder. Sourav holds an M.Tech degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Kalyani Govt.
