Sowmya K is a skilled Software Engineer and backend developer in the Data & Analytics domain. With hands-on experience in end-to-end product lifecycle of cloud-based web applications powered by Microservice architecture and REST Apis, she has expertise in Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Java, and Mongo. Currently working as an SDE II at Zebra Technologies, she has also worked with General Electric Healthcare (GEHC) in the past. Sowmya has received accolades for contributing to 2 successful go-lives on Near Real-time event processing applications for eCommerce orders and automation of API delivery. Her work reduced API delivery time by 90%. She was accountable for the migration of API Gateway of 17 applications for which she was awarded. She owned 2 API products and facilitated multi-functional teams for integration testing, tuned API performance with optimized Elasticsearch queries, and delivered them on schedule. In her previous role at GEHC, Sowmya contributed to the development of 2 go-lives of Real-Time Data Processing Application and worked on structuring of late-arriving data stitching using AWS MSK. She also developed node affinity/pod affinity rules for App deployment in Kubernetes and planning of effective utilization of resources. She built AWS Glue python scripts for one-time data loads and for updating existing data for new features in AWS Elasticsearch on top of which REST APIs are built. Sowmya has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Amrita University.
