Sriharsha Thota is a talented Software Development Engineer with 3.60 years of experience in the field. He is currently working at Amazon, where he has designed and implemented an end-to-end service that automated a manual process, reducing manual work by 40 hours every month and improving turnaround time for customers by up to 4 weeks. Sriharsha has also improved performance metrics for a service to prevent false alarms and reduce customer pain, and automated code and config deployment to replace manual processes and move towards agile practices. Sriharsha is a graduate student majoring in Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to joining Amazon, he worked as a Student Worker at The University of Texas at Dallas and as a Software Engineer Intern at Cisco. At Cisco, he worked on containerizing all the components of a product which is run using 20 virtual machines on 8 Bare metals. He built a model that orchestrates the startup and scaling of all the components using Kubernetes and built Docker images by modifying the existing Ansible scripts into pre-start and post-start scripts. He also automated the setup of all the components from Docker image creation to the startup of all pods in Kubernetes. Sriharsha researched tools and approaches that can be used to containerize existing systems. Sriharsha has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from NIT Silchar. He has a strong tech stack that includes Software Engineering, Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible. Sriharsha has participated in design reviews and code reviews of peers and directed teams to follow the best technical design and approach for new product development. He has also mentored interns in the team and provided operational support for team-owned software systems by assuming the role of on-call support during and outside of team business hours.
