Srikanta Datta is a technology leader with over 8 years of experience in conceptualizing, building, scaling, and operationalizing enterprise-grade software products targeting a variety of markets and market segments. He has expertise in multiple distributed systems, multiple programming languages, architectural paradigms, orchestration layers, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and OCI. Srikanta is an intrapreneur who challenges the status quo from a technology, product, and process perspective. He constantly focuses on delivering differentiating features to customers, better value/effort in the longer-term, and cost optimization. He has contributed to building, re-architecting, and scaling enterprise products such as SaaS applications, backend microservices, IaaS platforms, and PaaS platforms running on on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. Currently, Srikanta is a Senior Technical Leader and Architect at Cisco Webex SaaS Platforms team, where he is tackling exciting platform engineering problems. In his prior role at Cisco DNAC, he led the team that owns and delivers 15+ PaaS services, used by a thousand-plus developers community, deployed across several thousand enterprises. His work focused on constant value-add and enhancing customer experience release over the release. Before joining Cisco, Srikanta worked with Symphony and Oracle, where he gained experience in systems architecture, microservices architecture, cloud-native solutions, disaster recovery, and backend architecture. He has also developed Python clients for several Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS) services, backend adapters for OpenStack services, RESTful services, command line interfaces, and utility tools. Srikanta holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and an Executive Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from HEC Paris. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Science & Engineering from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. Srikanta is a skilled professional with expertise in senior software engineering, microservices, backend development, Kubernetes, Python, Swift, and infra.
