Srini Kandala is a seasoned engineering leader with over 26 years of experience working in big and small companies. He has a good command of computer science fundamentals and has led software engineering projects in different engineering models, including agile, DevOps, and infrastructure. Srini is passionate about building quality at the ground floor with the right monitoring and metrics to deliver value to customers. He works with customers and partners to close the feedback loop and deliver higher quality product services. Srini has managed and grown engineering teams and DevOps with a focus on delivering great quality products and services. He is particularly interested in delivering software as a service involving big data pipelines, distributed computing and platforms, and machine learning-based analytics. He is always up for a challenge in new domain space, where technology and automation can make a difference. Srini has a consistent track record of building and growing quality engineering teams in different domains, from operating systems, office applications, telematics/connected cars, database servers, healthcare, travel, eCommerce, and now in InfoSec/Cybersecurity. He never shies away from big challenges and is always looking for the next adventure. Currently, Srini is the VP of Software Engineering, Cloud and Data Engineering at Salesforce, where he is focused on leading the engineering efforts to modernize the SaaS offering by Tableau. He is building a containerized service, orchestrating with industry-standard Kubernetes, moving the containerized services to secure public cloud substrate, and building the most secure and scalable data visualization and data processing offering in the cloud. Srini is also leading the data platform, data engineering, and shared services at Salesforce(Tableau), responsible for the business data analytics and insights. Srini has previously worked as a Senior Director of Security Engineering(Cybersecurity Threat Detection) at Salesforce, where he led the security detection and analytics engineering team. He also worked as a Vice President of Software Engineering(Customer Identity and Access Management) at Discovery, where he built a consumer identity platform for Discovery's Direct to Consumer streaming platform. Srini holds a Master of Science degree in Information and Business Management from the University of Washington, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology.
