He is currently working as the VP of Facebook AI Applied Research, leading the Applied Research Group at Facebook AI. Srinivas has a strong background in Machine Learning, AI, Consumer Internet Applications & Infrastructure, Database Systems, and Enterprise Applications. At Facebook, Srinivas leads a team that does applied research in several areas such as Computer Vision, NLP, Speech, Core ML, and applies it for various products such as Newsfeed, Ads, Integrity, and AR/VR. His mission is to help bring the world closer together by advancing AI. Before joining Facebook, Srinivas held several senior positions in other companies. He was the Head of Platform and Applications at Oculus in 2015-2016, where he led the development of the Oculus platform and applications. Prior to that, he led several major initiatives at Facebook, including leading engineering for Photos, starting the Location efforts, and building the first version of the Interest Graph. Srinivas has also co-founded a company called Viralizr, which developed consumer apps in social collaboration. He has also served as the Director of Technology at Tavant.
