Sriram Ganesan is an experienced software engineer currently working at Rippling as a founding member of the Insurance team. He has been with the company since it had less than 10 engineers and has taken the product from zero to one. Sriram has been involved in almost every aspect of the product, from product research to operations and engineering. As the product grew, he moved into management and managed more than half of the product, solving scaling challenges and making it the best performing vertical in terms of support volume. With over 11 years of relevant experience, Sriram has also worked at Qubole as a Member of Technical Staff. At Qubole, he led the development of Cloudman, the next generation cluster management software which was the core of Qubole, and also led the development of Qubole's fork of Hbase to work more efficiently on the cloud. He built proprietary features which reduced the addition time/removal time of a data node in a cluster by 50% and increased the time of snapshot/restore by 90%. He also improved the HDFS block placement algorithm for the cloud by re-wiring the concept of HDFS rack into cloud-native concepts. Sriram has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli. His tech stack includes expertise in software engineering, AWS, research science, Spark, Hadoop, Azure, GCP, and HDFS. Currently, Sriram is hiring engineers for a brand new team at Rippling and is looking for individuals who can push the limits of possible and aren't afraid of trying crazy solutions to solve really hard problems. He is excited to start the process again with an even bigger challenge and better quality execution.
