Srivatsa Katta is a highly experienced technology leader who is currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Rapido. With a passion for building scalable solutions for complex problems, Srivatsa has a keen interest in building distributed systems. He has expertise in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, IT strategy, cloud-based solutions, product development and strategy, distributed systems and scalability, big data engineering, technical leadership, mentoring and coaching, mobile development, devops capability building, opensource contribution, client relationship development, and people development. At Rapido, Srivatsa joined the team when it was less than 30 engineers and helped scale the teams to 150+ within three years. He has led several notable initiatives, including the consolidation of multiple cloud providers, modernization of legacy systems, redesign and rebuilding of dispatch systems, building data platforms for data-driven decision-making, and automation of end-to-end delivery. He has also evolved the organization structure across engineering, data, and product to operate in a cross-functional mode aligned with business goals. Before joining Rapido, Srivatsa served as the Head of Engineering at Dunya Labs, an early-stage startup aimed at reducing the entry barrier for technologists to deploy and operate blockchain-based solutions. He built out a product in less than six months and got exposed to the world of truly distributed technologies like blockchain and crypto. As part of this role, he also proposed suggestions for the government of Telangana on formulating the policy for the right use of blockchain technologies. Prior to Dunya Labs, Srivatsa worked as a Principal Consultant at Thoughtworks, where he played a variety of roles, from pre-sales to evaluating market fit, from MVP to scale for millions, leading multiple teams, and setting up accounts from scratch. He rebuilt a decade-old credit card platform with the latest technology trends and introduced infrastructure as a service for the entire banking group globally. Srivatsa holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. He has expertise in several technologies, including senior software engineering, blockchain, devops, microservices, CI/CD, AWS, SDET, test, data engineering, GCP, big data, mobile, Kubernetes, and NoSQL. With 18.36 years of relevant experience, Srivatsa is a seasoned technology leader who enjoys making an impact at scale.
