Steven Acreman is a highly skilled Kubernetes Consultant with over 20 years of experience in the software industry. He has a diverse technical background, covering almost every type of computing platform, and has spent the last 5 years focusing solely on Kubernetes contracts. Steven has a proven track record of launching successful cloud products, building teams, and creating self-service tooling and APIs. He is an expert in software architecture, DevOps, automation, Python, Terraform, Ansible, ELK and Prometheus, and has a passion for getting ideas to market quickly and keeping the lights on. Steven has helped launch SAAS products for Pitney Bowes, Alfresco, Dataloop/Outlyer (acquired by Bitrise), Noon, and Pearson. He started and grew the biggest DevOps meet-up in the world (DevOps Exchange London) and founded a successful micro-services focused monitoring company (Dataloop) which grew to 25+ employees and raised a $5m Series A. Currently, Steven is a DevOps consultant working remote contracts, specializing in container platforms like Kubernetes. Steven's current role is as a Site Reliability Engineer at Akash Network, where he works with Kubernetes, DevOps, and Blockchains. He has also worked as a Kubernetes Consultant at Index Labs, where he was responsible for the uptime and performance of a popular online gaming service. Steven has delivered many projects, including building out Kubernetes environments on AWS and GCP, setting up CI/CD for gambling compliance-related micro-services on Kubernetes, and upgrading a monolithic API micro-service and React front end from Node8 to Node14. Steven has a strong educational background, having completed his A-Levels in Maths, Physics, and Biology at Watford Grammar School for Boys.
