Subhadip Basu is a highly accomplished professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jadavpur University, with over 23 years of relevant experience. He has a PhD from Jadavpur University and has done postdocs from the University of Iowa, USA, and the University of Warsaw, Poland. Dr. Basu is also an Honorary Research Scientist at the University of Iowa, USA, since 2016. Dr. Basu has an impressive track record of working in reputed international institutes like Hitachi Central Research Laboratory, Japan, Bournemouth University, UK, University of Lorraine, France, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Poland, and Hannover Medical School, Germany. He has published over 250 research papers in various areas such as Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Image Analysis. He has also edited ten books, received two US patents, supervised nine PhD students, and received several major research grants from UGC, DST, and DBT, Govt. of India. Dr. Basu has received several prestigious awards and fellowships for his outstanding contributions to research, including the ‘Research Award’ from UGC, Govt. of India in 2016, DAAD Senior-Scientist fellowship from Germany, Hitachi Visiting-Research fellowship from Japan, EMMA and CLINK Visiting-Researcher fellowships from the European Union, BOYSCAST and FASTTRACK Young-Scientist fellowships from DST, Govt. of India. Apart from his academic achievements, Dr. Basu is also a startup enthusiast and actively mentors several startups in India and abroad. He is the past Chairperson of the IEEE Computer Society Kolkata, a senior member of IEEE, member of ACM, and life member of IUPRAI. Currently, he is working as a Visiting Scientist (DAAD Fellowship) at Hannover Medical School, researching 3D Neuroimage Analysis. Dr. Basu's education history includes a PhD in Engineering from Jadavpur University, a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from JNNCE, and Higher Secondary education from St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata, and Madhyamik from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia.
