Subhomoy Bhattacharyya is a Senior Design Engineer at AMD with over 10 years of experience in GPU performance modeling, HPC/3D graphics workload analysis, and algorithmic development of firmware/software for Video IP/Software codec. He has a strong educational and research background with publications in the proceedings of national/international IEEE conferences. In his current role, Subhomoy is engaged in professional product development within large teams that handle complex code-base. He has 3 years of focused experience on HPC workload performance modeling and (unit/functional) testing activity for GPU compute, and over 4 years of earlier experience in algorithmic development of firmware/software for Video IP/Software codec. He is responsible for performance modeling/verification and bottleneck analysis for compute GPU for High Performance Compute workloads, including bottleneck analysis for GPU hardware blocks, memory and alu data path, evaluation of engine bound and memory bound data tests against performance targets set using architectural definitions, and a strong understanding of SPI, L1, L2, L3 level cache functionality and algorithms. He also has experience with preparing tests using OpenCL in HYDRA based test-bench environment, writing GPU assembly code (sp3), and performance correlation between c-model emulation and RTL simulation outcomes using DJ based DV simulation flow. Subhomoy has also worked on prototype model development in the field of artificial intelligence for hardware accelerator developed by Multimedia IP (RTG) group. He has built prototypes (in C/C++) of inference engine running with firmware environment, functional implementation of Convolution, Batch-Norm, Local Response Normalization, Fully Connected layers in C++, and integration of prototype model with test framework using Python. In his past roles, Subhomoy has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Aricent and Acuiti Consultants Limited, where he developed video firmware and GStreamer based plug-ins for video analytics platform, respectively. Subhomoy holds an MS (by Research) degree in E & ECE from IIT and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Kalyani Government Engineering College, West Bengal.
