Sugam Budhraja is a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with a focus on research, design, and development of AI models and algorithms. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Auckland University of Technology, where he is working on creating the next generation of brain-inspired neural networks to decipher mental health issues in youngsters. As the Chief Technology Officer at EyeInc, Sugam is responsible for collaborating with a team of PhD students to spearhead a new brand and developing applications that capture the gaze of a user, for advanced marketing analytics and tracking eye health. With relevant experience of 0.27 years, Sugam has also worked as a Research Assistant at Auckland University of Technology where he developed spiking neural networks-based TinyML applications and communicated with multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, developers, and engineers. In addition, Sugam has also worked as a Visiting Researcher at Auckland University of Technology where he performed sleep stage classification from EEG data using a brain-inspired neural network architecture called NeuCube. He analyzed functional connectivity between different regions of the brain during sleep and achieved 81.25% 5-fold CV accuracy which was published in the IJCNN conference 2020. Sugam has a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. His tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Research Scientist, ML, Neural Networks, AI, and Computer Vision. With his expertise and experience, Sugam is an asset to any team looking to develop and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms.
