Suheb Shaikh is an innovative leader with over 19 years of experience in leveraging data, analytics, and technology to engineer new and better business solutions. As the Director of Engineering at Blue Yonder, Suheb is known for creating exceptional team dynamics and valuing individual achievements. Suheb has a strong background in data management and has leveraged his knowledge in multiple technology disciplines to plan, design, implement, and lead data solutions that transform how organizations conduct business. He spearheaded the development of a 3+ petabyte data lake in the Big Data ecosystem, which enabled the integration of batch and real-time data processes for all American Express businesses. Additionally, he increased Big Data cluster performance by reorganizing data, using in-house optimizers, and leveraging Hive and Spark capabilities, which yielded a 21% savings in the first year. Suheb has also directed data management capabilities and the implementation of business solutions to rectify significant regulatory issues. Through collaboration with business partners, he built an automated solution that assessed capital to minimize credit and institutional risk, which enabled compliance with Basel laws and regulations.
