Sulyab Thottungal Valapu is a PhD student and Graduate Assistant at the University of Southern California. With a strong background in Computer Science, Sulyab has taught several courses such as Fundamentals of Computation, Introduction to Algorithms and Theory of Computing, and Introduction to Computer and Network Security. Prior to his current role, Sulyab worked as a Software Engineer at Arista, where he developed L3 routing software, primarily OSPF and OSPFv3 protocols. He also worked as a Research Intern at Yonsei University, where he was part of the Seamless Transportation Lab, School of Integrated Technology. Under the guidance of Prof. Shiho Kim, Sulyab worked on Cybersecurity in autonomous vehicles. Sulyab's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from IIIT and a High School diploma from Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Calicut. Currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, Sulyab is expected to complete his degree by December 2026. With a relevant experience of 2.28 years, Sulyab's tech stack includes Spring, Software Engineering, and Research Science. He is a dedicated and hardworking individual with a passion for teaching and research.
