Suman Gangopadhyay is an experienced Director of Engineering with a strong background in data engineering, machine learning, and software engineering. He graduated from IIT Madras in 2006 with an M.Sc in Mathematics and has since gained almost 16 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently, Suman is working as a Principal Data Engineer at Noodle.ai, where he manages the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance data pipelines for various projects using Airflow, R/Python, Spark, and SQL Server/PostgreSQL. Prior to this role, he worked as a Senior Data Engineer and Data Engineer at the same company. Before joining Noodle.ai, Suman was employed by Computer Aid Info India Pvt. Ltd. as an individual contributor, where he developed, tested, and deployed deliverables of various sizes using Oracle/SQL Server. He also spent eight years at Tata Consultancy Services, where he performed various roles in different projects, including Developer (Oracle, PL/SQL), Tester (Manual testing of EPOS h/w and s/w, EFT, DW, and DB), Designer (Oracle, PL/SQL), Requirement Analyst, Development Lead (Oracle, PL/SQL) (Database Migration), and Test Lead (ETL). Suman's technical skills include data engineering, SQL, AI, testing, machine learning, Spark, Apache Airflow, Python, designer, ETL, and senior software engineering. He is an active contributor to the open-source community and has a Github profile with several projects and a Medium profile where he shares his insights and experiences.
