Sumanth N is a Distinguished Engineer with a passion for building large scalable systems. He is currently a Principal Data Engineer at near.co where he is responsible for building a data platform for delivering enriched user mobility data. Sumanth has designed and developed audience sets, which enables analysis with large sets of millions of items, allowing sets to be combined and queried at large scale. He also designed and developed 'splice machine', a framework to extract data and metrics across various dimensions, allowing for faster, smarter data extracts for analysis. Sumanth has developed summarisers for generating summaries for different dimensions such as location, app, and combined. He has also evolved with a concept of 'UserPresence' which forms the basic abstraction for deriving insights. Sumanth has over 18 years of relevant experience in the industry. Prior to his current role, he has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Apigee, where he developed scalable systems to allow users to use API data. He has also worked as a Technical Architect at Appnomic Systems Pvt Ltd, where he was responsible for designing new architecture for processing large data sets and developing solutions to analyze application behaviour. Sumanth has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Science and Computer Systems from PESIT. He is highly skilled in data engineering, Spark, AWS, Apache Storm, SQL, software engineering, microservices, DAO, Java, MySQL, Hadoop, Kafka, and web technologies.
