Sumedh Alok Sharma is a Lead Member of Technical Staff with 13.12 years of experience in software engineering and Android development. Currently, he is working at Bluestacks, where he has developed an excellent knowledge of Android internals, including Framework SDK/NDK/JNI/HAL/bionic, and Linux kernel. He has implemented numerous Bluestacks platform-specific features and compatibility fixes in C/C++ on x86 AOSP in both framework and native layers. Sumedh is an expert in Android internals and Linux kernel and has implemented numerous fixes for app compatibility issues, categorized as crash, hang, abnormal code execution, and emulator ban on the Bluestacks platform. He uses tools like IDA-Pro/Jeb/JD-Gui for reverse engineering Java and native code, gdb/jdb for dynamic analysis, and objdump/GHIDRA/IDA-Pro for static analysis of native code. He also monitors and analyzes network traffic using tools like Burpe Suite and Charles to set up proxying in Android. In addition, Sumedh has managed a team of four to work on application compatibility on the Bluestacks platform, involving both framework and native development. He reviews code changes and assesses their system-wide impact. Before joining Bluestacks, Sumedh worked as a Senior System Software Engineer at STMicroelectronics, where he developed a complete Linux device driver stack for NSK1.0 (NDS Secure Kernel) Conditional Access (CA) architecture for set-top boxes. He also worked on Set-top box low power implementation and Linux kernel hardening and kernel booting with initramfs in Set-top Box. He resolved numerous critical priority issues related to CA sub-system and Smartcard in the legacy ST SOC Solutions. Sumedh started his career as an Associate System Engineer at IBM, where he monitored and troubleshooted client's live production SAP systems to maintain efficient system performance. He also applied and migrated SAP maintenance patches on client's production systems for system upgradation. Sumedh holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT).
