Sumit Ghosh is a dedicated and hardworking SDE II at Mathworks, with a passion for compiler construction and program analysis. He is a perfectionist at heart, always seeking to explore new ideas and walk on untrodden paths in search of novel experiences. Sumit is a proactive and innovation-seeking individual with good leadership skills, and his supervisors and colleagues describe him as humble and dedicated. Sumit has over three years of experience in Compiler research and development at TCS, India, and has worked as an SDE Intern at Mathworks in the Matlab Coder team, where he explored challenges in the areas of compiler construction and program analysis. He has a special interest in computer systems and distributed computing, with a particular affection for Linux based OS and its internals. Sumit is also enthusiastic about the prospects of applying advanced algorithms/machine learning strategies and process parallelization techniques towards solving Big Data problems. He has completed several courses/projects in this field and co-authored a publication in the field of data mining. Currently, Sumit is a Candidate for Master of Science in Computer Science at Northeastern University, Boston, and is expected to graduate in May 2017. He is looking for full-time opportunities and is well-equipped with the necessary skills to excel in the field of software engineering, research, and development. Sumit's past experiences include working as a Graduate Research Assistant at Northeastern University, where he researched fault tolerance in Hadoop ecosystem and investigated ways of performing a distributed multi-threaded checkpointing of Hadoop jobs completely in user-space. He also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for CS5010: Program Design Paradigms. Sumit's educational background includes a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from Northeastern University, a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science and Engineering from Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences, and an ISC from G.D. Birla Center for Education. He also completed his ICSE from The Assembly of God Church School. Sumit's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Research Science, Big Data, ML, and Search. With 9.70 years of relevant experience, Sumit is a highly skilled individual, who is passionate about his work and always seeking new challenges.
