Sumit Jahagirdar is a highly skilled Software Engineer with a specialization in IoT from VIT Vellore. He is seeking opportunities in AI and has 1.86 years of relevant experience. Sumit has worked as a Machine Learning research intern at Nvidia and is currently working with GE Healthcare Edison AI team as a Software Engineer. At GE Healthcare Edison AI team, Sumit has worked on modifying Python SDK along with several AWS & Kubernetes based services for Edison AI Workbench. While at Nvidia, he built systems for detection of COVID-19 from Chest Xray images using multi-channel Transfer Learning, novel loss functions, and few-shot Learning techniques. He presented a part of his work at GTC2020. Sumit has also completed a capstone project which focused on Unsupervised Learning based sampling and classification models for Few-shot learning dataset demonstrated through Chest X-ray Images. Sumit has co-authored more than 5 research papers and won top prizes at GE Healthcare Precision Health Challenge, Start-up VIT, VIT Innovation Day, and IET's PATW. He was recognized as one of the top 30 Microsoft Student Partners of Asia Pacific and was invited to attend MSP Asia Summit, Ignite tour, and Imagine cup finals at Singapore. Sumit also served as the technical head of IET-VIT and earned the title of Most Innovative Technical Chapter of VIT through consistent performance in Workshops, Projects, and Publications. He co-directed Hack Off v2.0, sponsored by Microsoft, Nvidia, and Major League Hacking. Sumit's past experience includes working as a Machine Learning Research Intern at Nvidia, where he built Unsupervised Learning based sampling and classification models for radiological images using few-shot learning, demonstrated using Chest X-ray Images. He also worked as an Advisor at IET on Campus VIT, where he co-directed South India’s largest international hackathon, founding member event of Major League Hacking 2020 Hackathon season APAC series.
